The relationship status of actors Genelia D'Souza and Riteish Deshmukh fails to die. Apparently, the two actors got engaged at a secret ceremony held at former Maharashtra chief minister and father of the groom-to-be, Vilasrao Deshmukh's home, a fortnight ago.
The source adds, apparently, Riteish was very sure from the beginning that he wanted to tie the knot with Genelia. But his family was not too happy with his decision. "They wanted him to get married to a girl from their community and so it took some time for him to convince them otherwise," says the source.
Confirms a source, "They have been planning a wedding for a while now, and families of both stars thought that an official engagement would only be appropriate." Interestingly, not a single friend of the couple from the industry was invited to celebrate their special day. Despite finally deciding to make it official, they stuck to a low-key ceremony with just a few family members and close friends, present. "The two have been dating for almost eight years now, but have never spoken about it. They have not just done films together, but have also made countless appearances at parties, award functions and on red carpets," adds the source.
